Efficiency Analysis of Axial Flux SynRM in Variable Speed Applications

Electrical machines find their place in every field, such as industrial, transportation, home, and commercial sectors. The suitability of the electrical machine for area which it will be used is important terms energy efficiency. selection motor to variable speed applications electric vehicles also very important. Torque power are determining factors required speed/torque or speed/power combination vehicles. For this reason, efficiency map should known detail. In study, due its advantages lighter structure, absence magnet, rotor winding loss, among others, Axial Flux Synchronous Reluctance Motor (AF-SynRM) was preferred, aimed at creating an map. parameters determined combinations were first obtained with FEM. Then, FEM results experimentally verified. order make more meaningful, experimental compared radial flux motors same output power. addition, using FEM, von Mises stress analysis displacement performed on shaft under overload conditions observe mechanical effects moving parts AF-SynRM. Furthermore, load bearings performed. show that AF-SynRM can preferred alternative other types, especially requiring speed, study has created topology time.
